Three generations on our ranch team up to pull a backwards calf on a beautiful spring day in South Dakota.
Come to the ranch and watch Grandpa Dave, Amanda, and Thorne Alvin assist a mama cow with labor and delivery.
It was a normal homeschool day for us when we got a phone call from Grandpa!
"SOS! I need help with a backwards baby calf!" he said.
So we hopped on the four-wheeler and headed out to the calving pasture to sort off the mama cow and help her deliver a backwards baby calf.
Alvin learned a ton on this homeschool day after all, and I was reminded of a childhood memory helping my dad and my grandpa Alvin pull a calf just like this! I am so thankful to be able to raise our kids on a cattle ranch!
