Bid On Beef With Our Ranching Family

There is much uncertainty in the United States of America at this present moment. The nation seems to be holding its breathe, anxiously waiting to see how the next four years will look as we vote for the next president.

Meanwhile, inflation and a down economy continues to press down heavily on the American people. Not a day goes by that I don’t see a small business announcing the closure of its store. Families are tightening their wallets on the “extras” as food and gas prices continue to climb.

In the food and agricultural space, commodity grain prices are depressed, and farmers are worried this may be one of the worst years on recent record. Further consolidation is evident in agriculture, as well. Studying the trends — we lose an alarming amount of livestock producers each year. The big get bigger, and the mid- and small-sized operations get out.

Add in monopolies in our food supply; 85% of our beef is controlled by four major packers. Plus, the crushing weight of USDA’s pending mandatory electronic identification rules rolling out in November. The Green New Deal continues to manipulate producers to gain access to their land. And the list goes on.

Many of these concerns weigh increasingly heavily on me with each passing day, both as a mother and as a farmer/rancher. However, one thing I know of for certain is that I refuse to be a victim. I refuse to bend a knee to the agendas coming from our government, and being pushed by the media, celebrities, and activist groups. I won’t wait for a white knight to come save my family farm. And I’m not going to beg the government for a handout.

No, I’ll remain fiercely independent and will spend my life fighting to stay connected to the land, livestock, and a family tradition of raising cattle and kids on the South Dakota prairie. It’s a constant battle, but it’s a worthy one.

In my speaking engagements across the country, I am focused on encouraging producers to look at farming and ranching from a new lens; to think outside the box; to be innovators, creators, explorers, builders, and doers; to get outside the commodity mindset and to think of ways to add value to every acre and every animal in their enterprises.

The stories I hear on the dusty trail are incredibly inspiring as bold and brave family farms and ranches find ways to do exactly that. First-generation producers are building successful enterprises — no carbon scams or government hand outs — but with capitalism in the free market. From beef tallow skin care lines to corn mazes and agricultural tourism, the sky is the limit, if you only go out and seek it.

Today, I would like to share with you all about one of my passion projects in 2024. I have partnered up with some incredible cattlemen from across the country to create a new auction platform called, Bid On Beef. Mirroring cattle sales, we take the concept of livestock auctions and apply it to retail direct-to-consumer beef sales.

On this platform, we have carefully vetted our ranching partners, and each week, we host new auctions featuring the best of their best beef. In turn, we invite the urban public to join us on the platform, where they are completely in the driver’s seat to choose the ranch; choose the beef cuts and pounds; and ultimately choose the price.

In just 120 days of business, we have sold at auction beef to nearly every state in the nation. The beef is selling at a premium, and it’s been humbling to see ranchers get paid for the true value of what they do, while also serving families who are seeking a high-quality product they can trust.

On Nov. 13, my family’s ranch, Radke Land & Cattle, will host its inaugural beef auction on the site. I’ve been anxiously awaiting participating on the platform, and Tyler and I are eager to share our beef with the nation, far beyond our typical method of selling quarters and halves to friends and family.

I humbly invite you all to check out both the platform and our sale. When you register at www.BidOnBeef.com, you automatically receive $25 to shop on the auctions. In our sale, we are gifting free steak seasoning and my children’s book, “Faith, Family, Freedom” with each purchase, and a portion of the proceeds of the sale will benefit the All-American Beef Battalion, a non-profit organization that serves steaks to the troops as a way to say thank you.

I know this auction platform won’t solve our nation’s challenges in a widespread way, but in my little corner of the beef cattle business, it’s our humble way of creating a solution, driven by a passion for both raising great cattle and serving consumer great beef.

Keep charging on, my friends. There may be obstacles in our paths as farmers and ranchers, but optimism and opportunities are abundant, if you’re brave enough to seek them.
